Is it DAO, or is there a "single action" notch?

I'm think about sending in my SP101 to Ruger to get a spurless hammer put on, but if it's not DAO, I won't bother.

The spurless is DAO.

Yep, the factory spurless hammer model is DAO, no single action notch.

It is considered unsafe to have single action notch with spurless hammer. The reason is that this leaves [inexperienced] shooter no safe and easy way to de-cock the gun. For a fee Ruger will replace regular hammer with spurless DAO.

I never really got that. To decock my spurred SP101 I push the face of the hammer down, squeeze the trigger, ease the hammer a little, let up on the trigger, and drop the hammer. I only touch the spur to cock it SA.

Handy thing about the transfer bar safety.

I think you can order that part from Brownells.
