All of the above and more, LOL.
AR15, Remington 870, 1911 style are very popular. Pretty much anything goes.

I use either a mini or an m-1a. same manual of arms.

My club stopped letting us use .30 and bigger because Tcdrennen and I pounded the heck out of the steel plates.
I have a .30-06 now but doubt it'll get much use. Most people use AR-15s as most of the crowd was into guns back when they were smart enough to get one (unlike me)

Great question! Are new shooters being hampered by the restrictions?
Are any 3 gun matches changing the rules to allow for politically correct guns and magazines?

no and no.
mini-14's and m-1a's are fine weapons, and only give up anything to the AR in terms of magazine changes at your average 3-gun match.
i've yet to see a 3-gun match change rules to be more 10 round mag friendly, since it's darn hard to have a realistic stage that makes it much of a factor.
though i hear tell that most 3-gun matches are real hose jobs, so it might be a factor.

I use my M1A. Lots of guys bought their AKs and ARs before the ban and still use them.

I presume you're asking about "currently available" stuff. Pretty much you're limited to M1A, and Mini 14/30 if you want to be a mag fed semi. You could also go with a fixed mag SKS or fixed mag FAL, feed them with strippers and still have a bunch of fun.

Depending on your environment, I don't like the M1As for shooting prone because they kick up way too much dust. Maybe it's the Cali-legal muzzlebrake. If you go this route, get a pair of goggles!

That's not dust...... That's the "Fog of War". Enjoy!
