Can you make shotshell blanks at home? I would like to work with my duck on blind skills(breaking and steadiness). I can't find any info in my manual(Lymans 5th edtion) on how to make them. Just wondering if it is possible.
Thanks, Ball00

Hmm, I'm not a duck hunter, but don't most guys use dogs? :neener:
The easiest SG blanks are just a primer. You'd be surprised how loud it is on it's own. I usually cut the old crimp off to simplify things, but you could just crimp it normally. I would think that would be loud enough for dog training. (But I'm not sure how well ducks hear)

Thanks, If I could train ducks I wouldn't get so wet trying to hunt them.

would have been easier training ducks than the bull-headed labrador I have! Good info on the shotshell blanks. good hunting
