I have Marlin model 30 lever action. This looks very close to the older 336.
My question concerns the trigger. Whether the gun is cocked or not, there is quite a bit of "free" travel on the trigger, maybe as much as 3/16" front to back.
The book doesn't show any spring the bears on the trigger. Is this loosness common on the Marlin?
Other than the travel, the gun functions fine.
