I always wondered about this. I don't have a pellet gun but if I did I'd hate to have to use 12 grams when I'm set up to fill paintball tanks. Are there any good powerful accurate airguns that run on co2?

I'd be surprised if there are any really ACCURATE air guns powered by CO2. I see plenty using compressed air.

As you know from paintball, expanding CO2 cools and that makes it really hard to maintain constant pressure, even with multiple regulators, anti-liquid valving, and expansion chambers. That's a lot of fuss compared to compressed air.

If pressure varies then so does accuracy.

If I invented a new CO2-powered air gun I'd probably just use it to cycle the drive cylinder of a single-pump pneumatic.

there are tons of CO2, match grade pistols and rifles. out there. They don't use 12g cartridges. They are a little old school now, most of the serious competitors are using compressed air now.
