I'm in need of a starting stash of 00 buck. I can get 100 rounds of Fed Tac for about $75 delivered from Ammoman. Or I can get Estate for about $60 delivered. I know that's overpaying for the Estate but nobody has it. I really need some decent HD buck as all I have now is plinking/training S&B.
Thanks,
Satch

Get the Estate, everyone needs some "Serious" ammo rat now. Later, look for sales.

And while your shotgun may like another brand better, the Estate ammo has lots going for it.

I like Estate and that price is good. I pay $6.49 for it here locally. Just recently got some Win Ranger 5-per-box for $2.xx + shipping though from Kiesler's.

What is Estate ammo and who makes it?

Thanks,
Steve

Estate is made by, Estate. Formerly a small independent, it's now a subsidiary of Federal, IIRC.

The buck we're talking about is the R/R load, called the SWAT load. Good stuff.

They make a variety of shells, not just buck.

I've had a lot of trouble finding this load...

Any links or sources someone willing to share?

Cheaper than Dirt is where mine came from.Gamaliel carries it sometimes. Availability is spotty.

Yes, CTD is where I was talking about. I ordered 17 boxes. 20 rounds ought to get me patterned and 150 rounds for stash.

You're welcome, Rat.

100 rounds is a good start....

Natchez Shooters Supply is selling the Federal *Premium* 00 buck for $1.89/bx, ran me $2.45/bx delivered. This load has the shot cup & copper plated pellets for tighter/denser shot patterns (patterns better in my shotgun than anything else I've tried): http://www.natchezss.com/

Tomac-

Good price on the Federal premium if this is part no. H15400 - this stuff runs me $3.23/5-pack 'round these parts... and I'm happy to pay it, as it patterns extremely well in all my shotguns, knock on simulated wood.

I really want to try the Estate, and see if it has similar results, as past experience with this ammo was favorable, just difficult to find locally.

I tell you, it's really all a plot by these distributors - just when I make one order, another place revises it's pricing - it's a plot! Conspiracy!

But, I'm thankful :D

Thanks, Tomac!

Rat-30, it is H15400, I spotted that price in the latest Shotgun News, couldn't believe my eyes as I was just getting ready to head down to Wally World for their price of $3.38/bx. I've got my 200rds put back now, should last me a bit, guess I'll have to keep my eyes open for similar price breaks. I agree, it's either a conspiracy or Murphy has a twisted sense of humor! ;)
