Gentlemen, I need help. I have been to two World Fairs and a Goat Roping and thought I had seen about everything there is to see till I came into possession of this old shotgun that breeches SIDEWAYS! It is in very good condition, but I cannot figure out how to take the barrels off. In all of my 79 years, I have never seen one before. It was disassembled when I got it, and I put it together OK, but can't seem to take them off again. There has bound to be a "trick" of some sort, but for the life of me, I can't figure it out. Beats me. Interesting gun though. I'll keep looking for a lead on disassembly.

It has been quite a while, but I believe when you get them as far open as you think they will go, you have to force them a little bit further against a spring and then they will separate. Go back together real easy as I recall.
About as user UNfriendly a design as a Darne in my book.
