I bought an early 80s Guns and Ammo magazine at a gun show recently, and I noticed an ad for Classic Arms BP pistols. They came in kit form or complete. Some of them looked pretty cool.

Are these still available? Where can I find them?

Yes sir they are still available thru Dixie gun works They are in kit form.
So if you decide to get one keep me informed I was thinking of getting one but the reviews are kind of rough.

Gentlemen, I've had experience with two of the Classic Arms pieces. One was the New Orleans Ace, the other was the 4-barrel "pepperbox". In my opinion they are both only slightly better than junk, perhaps rising to the level of "junque".:D

If you only want to put together a small blackpowder pistol and not shoot it more than a few times, merely keeping it as a conversation piece, doorstop, or paperweight, then the Classic Arms stuff may be just the thing. If however you harbor any desire, no matter how latent, to work with quality components and from them assemble a firearm of which you can be truly proud, then I humbly suggest you look elsewhere.

Yup I read the reviews and they are all pretty much as you said there Acorn. I like the snake eyes but read the reviews they scare they hell outta me.

There's a thread on The Muzzleloading Forum about 'The Worst Guns' anyone's ever owned. Classic Arms kits are way ahead of everyone else at this time. That's EVERYONE else, including Palmetto.

Speaking from personal experience, there is absolutely nothing "Classic" about that line of products. They are nothing more than crap packaged in shrink wrap. The shrink wrap holds the stink in...:eek::uhoh::barf:

The ones I have donated to recyle possibly got a new lease on life as fenders for Yugos. Still, others might have made the cut for GM products. I think that might have been the main factor for almost single handedly sending the auto making giant into government (Taxpayer) bailouts and possible bankruptcy.:cuss::what:

If you are so determined to throw your hard earned money away, send it my way. I will put it to better use. You on the other hand will still enjoy the same feeling of having been taken.:cuss::cuss:
