I read this in one of the Miami Vice boards.

"The original Miami Vice Bren 10 has been found. It is on display at the Las Vegas Planet Hollywood Restaurant.

It appears to be identical to a SM with chromed slide, with a special serial #, something like "83SMXPOM1" or "83SMXPQM1".

One funny thing, on the decription plate, it is written
"...Detonics automatic pistol..."

Also shown on the plate "...Courtesy Don Johnson"

Anyone here near the Las Vegas area? Be cool to get a confirmation or a photo or two.

I read this in one of the Miami Vice boards.

While listening to the all 80's radio station? :neener:

Other intersesting boards can be found here.
Lame TV related message boards :D (http://www.tvlinksonline.com/boards/)

I think the sad thing is that there IS a message board for tv.
Oh well to each his own.

ooook, back to topic...

So does anyone live in the Las Vegas area and care to visit the Planet Hollywood to confirm or deny the presence of the Miami Vice Bren-Ten?

- -About the plate mentioning Detonics pistol - -

As I recall, Sonny Crockett/Don Johnson carried a Detonics as an ankle gun during at least part of the series. (I must confess, I kinda lost interest after a time . . . .) It is entirely possible that it was intended to donate (SELL??) the backup gun for the exhibit, and the plate was done before the wrong pistol changed hands.

Be interesting to know the full story, huh?

Best,
Johnny

It's been along time since I've been to Planet Hollywood Las Vegas and I don't remeber seeing any Bren Ten, did see the naked ice thing of Sylvester Stalone, you know Demolition Man, very disturbing because he hangs right above your table. The Bren Ten must be new or just hidden in the back somewhere. I think its best to ask someone going on vacation to go check it out, because locals usually stay away from places like that. As in lousy food and lousy prices, but there is so much uber cool crap on the wall.

It is also possible that the pistol on display is the Detonics, and that the person posting of that board didn't know the difference.

Was playing Grand Theft Auto: Vice City the other day...
It has a nice Miami Vice mojo with it... cept your the badguy.

Cool show.
Cool game.

But that doesn't mean I would go back to the 80's. No thanks. I don't think I could handle any more Cindy Lauper.

Couldn't let that one pass George. Cindy Lauper equals Madonna except with talent. "She bop, he bop 'a we bop...." C'mon man you gotta love it!

As for the gun I'm betting Mushinto nailed it...

What?
Madonna... Like a Virgin... wearing scarfs and lace.
Cindy... Like an idiot... wearing NEWSPAPERS?

The 80's give me a headache.

The 80s?

BeenThereDoneThatGotTheT-shirtDon'tWannaGoBack.

However...
The 80s were great for getting good deals on N frame Smiths. REAL Smith & Wessons.

I'd happily go back to the 80s. Load up on Mac-10s and other fun preban weapons. Ah yes, those were good years for gunfolks. Or at least better years than the present.

Anyways, once again. Back on topic.

The reported Miami Vice Bren ten at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas. I am suprised no one here can either confirm or deny its presence.

I read somewhere that the Miami Mice "Bren Ten" was actually in 45 ACP, due to availability of factory blanks, IIRC. Hollywood, ya know; they don't actually shoot somebody. FWIW
