I was thinking about a 10 gauge single shot with a barrel threaded for chokes. This will be for geese and Turkey. My budget is $400 any suggestions? No chinese made guns please.

Used BPS pump or an H& R single shot. I've owned a BPS 10ga. for 20 years I can attest to their dependability. Up your budget $250- 300 and get a Pre owned Remington SP-10. I bought a very clean one two years ago for $ 675 delivered off of Gunbroker. I hunted with it this last goose season and decided to keep it. It's much easier on my arthritic shoulder.

Yep, gas operated is much easier on the shoulder.
I have seen BPS 10's for 400 to 450 locally from time to time. I don't see the gas guns much, guess people know what they got and hang onto them. (Me included) :D

I will check the totally ignored used shotgun rack at my local "big gun store" there may be a BPS or Remington there. The NEF turkey 12 ga with extra full is an option even though it is camo'd.

I have seen several 10 ga. BPS's pass through my local Cabelas used gun department for $400-450 over the last couple of years. And don't discount the on-line gun sales sites, such as Gunbroker or Auction Arms. I've bought several used guns on-line over the last two years and haven't been disapointed yet. Just look for sellers with a good feedback rating that have a return policy of some sort. And follow your local laws. Good Luck.

+1 on the BPS 10 gauge. I have had one for 15 years and it has been a great shotgun.

I was an active Gunbroker buyer until the prices there went through the roof. May be a 10 gauge with a nice wooden stock is there being ignored though.

I would look for a used BPS 10 Gauge.

H&R has several special models for turkey/waterfowl in both 10 and 12 gauge. Don't know about prices, but they should be well within your budget.
