Anyone know anything about these? My pal has one that's gas system seems to be shut off; like for launching rifle-grenades with blanks. We cant figure out how to turn it back on. I dont have it in front of me, and havent seen one in forever, so if you know, please include intricate details. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Keeder:D

The Rasheed was a modified Hakim, which in turn was a modified Ljungmann (Swedish AG42b). The Rasheed sort of combines the Ljungmann gas system with an FN 49 type action and features of the SKS. It is chambered for the 7.62x39.
Anyway, there is a hole in the top of the handguard through which can be seen a steel "switch" shaped like an arrow. If the point of the "arrow" is back toward the shooter, the gas system is "on"; if it is pointing toward the right, the system is "off". In between are other settings to direct more or less gas into the tube, allowing for differences in ammo and environmental conditions.
