So, due to the incompetence or lack of ability to deal with murderers, they decide to just ban people from riding two to a motorcycle.

Since when did the idea that criminals follow the law become logical? Guatemala also has strict gun laws, yet that isn't stopping them from aquiring guns.

Here is how you deal with crime, and it's worked since the beginning of civilization: Arrest and confront criminals. Banning something pertaining to an illegal activity does not stop that activity. If someone is robbing convience stores for a living, banning the gun he's holding doesn't make the gun go "poof" and suddenly he stops. Banning people from riding two to a motorcycle isn't going to stop drive-by shooters, they're already disregarding the law! The only thing laws like this one will do is affect the innocent.

Guess what? They are just following the Iraqi government lead. Except the Iraqis tried (briefly) to ban ALL motorcycles except those ridden by the police and army. After it all it says they can have guns in the constitution not motorcycles.

First there was a daylight curfew put in place then all motorcycles became illegal. Turned into the biggest private property grab of the year for a while. Didn't have much impact on stopping shootings either. Terrorists just changed techniques.
