Help Me Decide. Buy, Trade Or Hold?

I have a couple of Saigas in 7.62x39. I bought them both last year and have intentions of converting one of them. I have to admit that I enjoy handguns a lot and haven't really got into shooting long guns. It's not that I think long guns wouldn't be a hoot, it's that it's much more convenient for me to go shoot at an indoor range about a mile from my house.

I was going to trade one of the Saigas in part for an SP101 to let my sister shoot, but she has such bad tendonitis in her right arm that she doesn't think that she can do it. So, I got to thinking maybe I should trade it for a GP100 with a 4" bbl in stainless. I have a few S&W .357s but not a Ruger.

I haven't decided whether to trade the Saiga or not because I know they have already gone up a fair amount since last year and I couldn't replace it for what I paid for it. On the other hand, do I need two of them.

I have learned one thing there are too many guns to be bought and I don't have near enough money. If I did trade the Saiga, I would have to give some to get the GP100. Any advice?

Actually you should probably give the Saiga to me. For free. :D

Phydeaux;

You know, I wouldn't mind having that same stainless GP100 myself. I think that if you hold a Saiga aside, you might just be able to trade straight across in the future. Wheelguns will almost certainly be among the last "targeted" firearms of the anti's, Saiga's are already being demonized by the propogandists. Which will tend to drive the price up, perhaps significantly farther up than we've already seen.

hell, you can always make more money, but how often can you replace a good firearm?

save your money up and buy the new one when you can.

I'd trade the Saiga for the GP 100; you might come out fairly close on the deal, and one Saiga should last you pretty much forever, so you don't need another.

Look hard and you'll likely find someone that would be willing to trade you straight up now.

Some fool (I assume that is the case) had traded in 3 old S&W to one of my local shops. I have bought 2 of them already, and plan on getting the last one eventually. But by then there may be more from this guy.

It is possible to find used GP100s in the $350-$400 (from what others have said, I've yet to fall into that good of a deal in my 25 years of gun collecting). If that's the case, you could surely find someone that would trade you straight up.

I would try to keep them both and pick up a nice GP-100 as well, if you can manage it. :)

I have a Saiga, and had an SP.

You already have a wheelgun, just use that. Look at other handgun platforms if you really want to sell one of the Saigas.
