After the overtime I worked last week and on saturday, I don't know what to do, buy the Nagant (at that price, who wouldn't) or pay off the truck and then save up for the Bollester or the Sestima they have at $250.
Life as a gun owner and collector is not always easy... truck, or gun, truck or gun... :D

The current crop of Nagants have been extensively overhauled, mostly the blued finish has been replaced with black paint and the importer's mark on the right side of the gun is hugh (to placate the ATF). Most that I've seen are good, solid examples of the piece and seem to be from any time of production and from both Tula and Ishevsk. Got one myself, an Imperial from 1906, that the Soviets obliterated the "Imperial" but left the rest of the Tulsa marking. Has been extensively rebuilt over its life, the side plate and maybe the barrel are not original. With Fiocchi ammo and single action it will shoot seven shots into a 1" group at seven yards when using an isosceles position. This equals my 1944 Ishevsk and 1943 Tula.

Wild, do you have a different website for SOG than I do?
http://www.southernohiogun.com/index.html
I ran thru the whole thing, especially Surplus Handguns and New Handguns and don't see the Nagants. What price do they list?
Thanks,
Johnny

Johnny Guest - I've found it is pretty common for SOG to have pistols for sale that aren't on their website. They apparently don't like to update their website much so I think they only list the items that they have lots of.

Hey Alaska, check out the website below for Nagant pistol reloading info:
http://www.geocities.com/gfisherws36/nagant/m1895.htm
I got the Lee die set mentioned and am using Berry's plated 83gr HBWC and Starline .32-20 brass. This gun is a champ! You won't regret it, although it ain't no Smith & Wesson. Consider this a fun gun.
I bought mine at a local gunshow for $130 here in Maine. It is not one of the current crop of CAI imported guns. It is marked with a Harrisburgh, PA importer (forget the name). It is a Tula 1940.
At the link I referenced above are links to other useful Nagant revolver sites.

When they first imported them in the mid 1990's I bought 3. One was left origional, one I replaced the cylinder with a 32acp cylinder, and the other one I sent the cylinder to a gunsmith that had a ad in Shotgun News at the time to bore Nagant cylinders to 7.62x25mm.
With the 32acp cylinder it is about like shooting a 22lr,very mild recoil. Using Chinese surplus 7.62x25mm ammo the pistol with the converted cylinder kicks like the origional one does using the Fiocchi Nagant ammo.
All are accurate enough for bowling pins at 50 yards and rolling coke cans at 15-25 yards.

Hey Thirties thanks for the link, I called SOG and am waiting for them to call back to see if I can get an imperial marked one :)
