I am looking at a stainless M 60 S&W. There are three screws holding the side plate.
Two of the screws are dome head, the other is flat. With the muzzle pointed to the right, and the handle facing my belly, the screw closest to the hammer has a dome head. As is the screw closest to the muzzle. The sideplate screw closest to the trigger is flat.
The M 60 is used and has been into.
I understasnd that, although the sideplate screws look to be the same, they aren't. I kinda doubt that the screws have been repeadedly returned to their correct position.
If so, how can I tell which should go where?
Kuhnhausen has a schematic of the M 60 with part numbers, but no nomenclature for those parts. No help from Brownells...their schemantics and nomemclature information pertain to leaf spring revolvers, not coil mainspring.
Does anyone have any suggestion about a web site where I can order replacement parts?
The coil mainspring and, maybe, the trigger return spring have been replaced with aftermarket lighter springs.
I'd like to put std OEM power springs back in.
Thanks,
salty
