How exactly DOES one make a pistol grip Remington 1100 with extended mag? Because that gun is still THE shotgun, imo.

It takes a major redesign/rework of the gun, since the 1100 like almost all semiauto shotgun designs has a bolt return spring and tube in the buttstock. That has to be relocated in order to make the design workable. There was a company making working PGO 1100s for a while once upon a time, they were called Sidewinders IIRC.

For the record, there are a couple of designs that do not require bolt return springs. The High Standard Supermatic is one of them, and thus it was used in producing the High Standard model 10-A and 10-B bullpup shotguns- see pics at http://www.riflesnguns.com/node/91/ .

I do not have one here to look at, but I think the Browning B2000 had the action spring concentric on the magazine tube OD.

Yep. The B2000 has a standard stock bolt, not a bolt return spring/tube.
Don't have an example of the gun, but I do have a book 8^).

It's easy when it's a prop for a movie and doesn't have to fire real ammunition. ;)
