Ammolab has tested the 185gr. and 200gr. JHP .45 GAP ammo, using a standard Glock 37 as the test gun. Results are here (http://www.ammolab.com/45_gap_gd.htm). Looks pretty similar to .45 ACP in performance.

I don't remember Gold Dots not expanding when shot through denim. Are the bullets used in these GAP loads different than the ones we've been using forever in 45ACP?

But like my pappy used to say, "Who cares about expansion when the pill's a half-inch wide going in?" ;)

I still don't see it as being an advantage I don't think the advantage was in the round. I think the advantage was in the shape of the gun's grip.
