Hi,
I'm wondering...
Without getting a CCW, is it legal to carry a knife and or mace in florida?
Does it have to be in plain view if it is possible?
Is there a blade size limit? Etc.
I know I can have a gun in my car...:D

You can carry a "common pocketknife" here in Florida. What exactly that is, I don't know. I carry a 2 3/4" bladed lockback clipped to my right pocket, and I have never had a problem. I even work on a University campus! We all know how most academics feel about weapons!

You can't carry a "dirk" which is any fixed bladed double edged dagger without a CCW. Large fixed blades, I THINK you can carry, so long as they are carried open and you have good reason to be doing so, ie you are just back from hunting, you use it for your job, or the like.

Mace, I think the rule is that you can't carry over a 2oz can of it. In other words, you can't use one of those bear foggers. Past that, there are no rules that I am aware of.

NOTE: I am not a lawyer.

Ok, thanks for the info! :)
I just realized... I should check packing.org.
See if they have anything on this...
