I have a somewhat different, and bit of a ‘delicate’ request to make.
I am looking for one of the established members of this forum who has a FFL and would be prepared to act as a ‘collection point’ for me in the States.
I wish to begin assembling a reasonable BP collection which is intended to be primarily Walker and Dragoon commemorative editions, cased sets with accessories, and anything interesting that comes along on an opportunity basis.
The situation that I have to get around is partly customs, partly Australian regulations, partly freight costs of single items – and mainly that most dealers, sellers, auction houses etc usually will not send items overseas.
The way to alleviate this is to have a point where purchases can be mailed to internally in the U S of A and held until a reasonable amount has been gathered and then freighted internationally as a single consignment under one lot of covering paperwork.
I will handle all the paperwork etc and pay any costs up front – but I need the collection point/person first.
As I said above – this will be ‘delicate’ as there will have to be implicit honesty and not a little faith. Although nobody is going to be asked to temporarily house half million dollar Walkers there will be some quite valuable weapons so a good level of storage security will be essential. I intend this to be an on-going scenario not a once-off situation.
