I have an uncle who was/ is a gun enthusiast, competitor, gunsmith. In the next few days, he's coming to CA to visit & hopefully buy parts so he can finish working on a couple of guns.
How bad is it when someone from a diff't country is coming to CA for gun parts?

The U.S. Gov't is the biggest hassle. Your uncle will need an export permit if he's got over $100 worth of parts, and likely will have to ship them to a dealer in Canada. Try asking the gents here, some of them know more about the details than I do.

I can't imagine how rough it must be to be going through the trials and tribulations of the gun registry. Not to mention dealing with the anti-gun zealots there.

Quite frankly, I think the Kalifornians are worse of than I am. The registry isn't a done deal yet. It will be out of money in 2 months if Chrétien can't keep his back benchers in line and there's 1 million Indians who aren't going to register, make no bones about it and are fighting it in court.

Hate to sound self-centered on this one guys but, this thread makes me proud to be roosted in the boon-docks of east Tennessee where you can both urinate and shoot a rifle off your back porch!;)
