EVerything man made breaks sometime or another. Nice thing is that by checking the SN, Glock knows to replace it. Hassle, I know, but at least it's not catastrophic malfunction.

Complete structural failure of that which holds the 2 pieces of gun together, rendering the gun inoperable, constitutes "catastrophic malfunction" in my book. ;)

I experienced that firsthand.
Before I bought my first Glock, I thought it'd be wise to rent one first.
Rented a 23 (I think....is that one the .40?) and a few rounds into it, I noticed the back of the slide was quite loose.
Stopped shootin', called the Range Master over, he stripped it, and sure enough; busted rail. :what:
I was like "WOW! I broke a GLOCK!!!" :what:  :neener:
Seriously though, who knows how many rounds that thing had through it without a cleaning. (Probably been made fun of a lot too, the poor thing... :( )

Drjones,
Are you implying that the Glock may have committed suicide due to all the taunting from the pretty and popular guns? :neener:
Somebody hasn't been watching the metallurgy too closely. :(

No suprise. You can't trust anything more mechanical than a knife and fork.
Somebody hasn't been watching their plasttilurgy very well.:D
(My 1911 rails are OK...)
