Ok, after much though, I've decided I'd rather have the rifle or musket that shoots those big lead blobs than a new fangled counting device that may or may not require battery replacement. I can continue to count on my remaining fingers in the mean time. Swapping out toes for those fingers that go missing, are burned away, or simply fall off.

Only need to count to 6 anyway, as anything else is a complete waste. Well, it is unless I acquire a Le Mat revolver, in which case 10 becomes important again. But that's an awfully high number to count to without some serious good reasons.

The abacus will not need batteries, it is solar powered. Every pic I have seen of them they are used outdoors.
