There are 7000 grains in 1lb of powder.
Here is a chart to go by.

Interesting, so according to the chart and starting load grains of powder I should get approximately ~
2,300 rounds for 380 out of a pound of HP38
and
1,400 rounds for 9mm out of a pound of HP38
Let's see, that's around 3700 small pistol primers and at current market price I should be able to get out for $450. :uhoh:
It is a good thing that I'm not easily discouraged.

Yeah powder goes a long way in those small pistol cartridges. I don't shoot an excessive amount of pistol so I have never found the need to buy an 8# jug for them. 1lb will last me a long time.

I've got 35k small pistol primers & 12 lbs of powder on order. And that's for shootin', not hoardin'.

I've had just one thousand small pistol primers on back order now for nearly 2 months. At this rate, they might get here some time before I die of old age.
