Readers that take or have access to Gun Week should read Hindsight, 20 October issue.

Other than that, and on to specifics, note the following.

1. Less than a year remains for the assault weapons ban sunset date, 13 Sept., 2004.

2. The anti's are trying mightly to obtain, at the very least, reinstsatement/reauthorization of this legislation, at the federal level, and will push at state levels, where they can, similar or worse proposals. In the U.S. Senate, S. 1034 by Feinstein of California proposes reauthorization. S. 1431 by Lautenberg is, I believe similar, if not worse. H.R. 2038 by McCarthy is much worse indeed. Pressure on our elected things, House of Representatives and Senate must be maintained, lest some wag try to slip something through via a rider or amendment, one of those "dark of the night" deals that often take place. Ditto for state legislatures. We cannot rest. Freedom was never free, and it hasn't become so. George Bush is not to be trusted either.

3. Strongly urge viewers to read in 20 October, Gun Week, Hindsight. The necessity to keep after your elected things, even avowed anti's, cannot be to strongly put, or so it appears to the writer.

Thanks for your attention.
