Kimber G82 owner needs help

I recently purchased a beautiful used Kimber Govt. Model 82 with the aperture sights. The rifle took a hard hit in transit and the rifle arrived with the rear sight damaged. The 'rail' that the sight mounts to is cracked on the left side. The item is marked Kimber but the rail that it mounts to has a sticker 'Made in Australia.' Any known source to replace this? Are repairs possible on white metal? Thanks.

Is that the sight that clamps to the receiver dovetail with the high upswept 45 degree angle?
If so, I doubt it could be MIG welded.
A gunsmith might be able to mill a slot across the crack, and either drill & tap for a steel renforcing plate.
Or epoxy a length of threaded stock in it to hold it from breaking further.
I doubt you can find another one.

CMP does not list rear sights but you might contact them and see if they have too few to put on the www.
Advertise on rimfireshooting.com and rimfirecentral.com for a takeoff, a lot of people put scopes on these rifles.

The CMP had some sights for the Kimber ($75), but they sold out a long while back. They don't currently have them in stock on their web store, but that maybe because they don't have the volume on hand to warrant listing them. You might get lucky and they have one. Ebay has them sometimes as well....ain't gonna be cheap there. I wonder if any of the Euro brand sights would fit....they are pretty expensive though. Champion Shooter and Champion's Choice would be sources for alternate match sights that might fit.
No affiliation, but here's a guy on the rimfirecentral.com site with a set he is looking to sell....maybe not rediculously high??

They have a section dedicated to the Kimber brand and you might want to cruise it to see if you get any help from that.
