I noticed over on ammolab (http://www.ammolab.com/9mm_section1.htm) that they used the Winchester Ranger 127gr +P+ RA9SXTP and the Winchester Ranger 147gr SXT RA9SXT for their 9mm tests.
Why doesn't ammolab instead use the Winchester Ranger 147gr RA9TA and the Winchester Ranger 127gr +P+ RA9T?
I don't even see the RA9SXTP listed anywhere on the Winchester web site. Who cares about test results from this load?

I'll have to consult my Winchester LEO Ammo catalog .pdf, but I thought the 127gr. +P+ is basically the same all around....???
It would be nice if somebody tested that super powerful 115gr. +P+ load they make. Never seem to hear about that though...
Next time I get a box I'm going to chrono it out of my P35.

No, the SXT has a different design than the Ranger T series. If you actually look at the SXT round, the hollowpoint is very small and shallow. On the Ranger T, the hollowpoint is wide and deep.
As far as I know, they are different cartridge designs.

I don't think I've ever shot any of the SXT 127gr., just the RA9T in the LEO boxes. That's some good stuff.
However the hollowpoint didn't strike me as being "wide", just really deep.

I meant wide in comparison to the SXT.

Honestly, the Ranger hollowpoint struck me as being kind of narrow compared to Golden Sabers and to a lesser extent Gold Dots. Just a really deep cavity though.

Have you asked Mr. DiFabio yet?

The RA9TA and RA9T cartridges use bullets designed to perform well in the IWBA four layer heavy denim cloth test.
Whereas the earlier RA9SXT and RA9SXTP were designed to perform well in the FBI heavy clothing test. They didn't perform as well against four layers of heavy denim cloth and were redesigned and replaced by RA9TA and RA9T.
