Would this be tacky?

Upon having my old Norinco 1911A1 reparkerized, it has become apparent that they used two different kinds of steel. The slide stop, safety and hammer are a slightly lighter color. Not a big deal, since I was planning on eventually replacing 'em anyway.
So, hey, would it be tacky to replace 'em with stainless?
Pax, I'm posting this in "General" rather than in the handgun forum because this is a "fashion sense" matter rather than a "tacticality" matter.

Everyone has different tastes. If you like it, go for it.
I wouldn't for it though. I like the dark (blue or Park) slide over a white frame, but just white controls wouldn't be to my taste.

Bright, shiny, and silver is always tacky, in my opinion.
In this situation, though, why do our opinions matter?
It's your gun.
Offend us all and laugh about it.
It's your right. :)

I like tacky, why not brown or light blue the top while your at it :D
As a CCW people would just mistake it for Nokia ;)
To quote Hermes Conrad from Futurama "You gotta do what you like, even if it's not a good idea." :neener:

If you want, put black and white zebra stripes on it...
If it were mine... I would leave it all parkerized.

As a toy...I still wouldn't....tacky.
Tis youren tho, so tacky is in the foot of the onstepper.

Tacky is in the eye of the beholder. For reasons I can't explain I've decided that in revolvers I like stainless and blued about equally, but I really don't like the way stainless looks on a semi-automatic. So if it was me I wouldn't do it, but it's your gun.

Digital Warrior,
Go for a REAL pink fur holster for the wife and put both HCI & PETA into coniptions! (Is that really a word?)

bogie, the rule of thumb is that if you have to ask if it's tacky, then the answer is 'Yes.' So Do It!!! It's from the PRC, fer cryin' out loud! In fact, I'd go with chrome instead of stainless. In fact, strip the park and get the whole thing chromed! And when you go for the imitation mother-of-pearl stocks, be sure to get the ones with the dragons inlaid in them. :p
{suddenly, Happy Bob imagines his grandmother's voice, telling him "now, there's no call for that. He might not like for people to joke about his pistol, and you might keep in mind that you don't even have a 1911 yet." Happy Bob deflates}
Umm, like sorry, dude, don't have a conniption fit. We're not really picking on ya. :uhoh:
Brownell's has a bunch of things in their "Metal Coloring" category that might work, if you decide later that you don't like the way the stainless parts look. One of them is "Teflon/Moly Oven Cure Gun Finish" with Teflon and molybdenum disulfide. It comes in three kinds of gray, as well as black, brown and green. "Dark Park. Gray" is stock no. 083-048-808, for example. To get there, I followed the path "MAIN > METAL COLORING > PAINT FINISHES > AEROSOL PAINTS > BAKE-ON AEROSOL PAINTS" at http://www.brownells.com . It's your pistola - experiment with looks all you want.
