Those pistols are beautiful; do you mind asking about them. I know them as 1911 pistols but I do not kind they are. Thank You.

DA,
I took this pic of a bunch of dirty guns after I went to the range on Friday. They are all .45 ACPs and all of 1911 pattern.
The top right is a Kimber. I rebuilt it last year and refinished it. It has a 3-pound trigger pull.
Bottom right is a Norinco. I rebuilt this one last summer. It has nine original parts left. It is mostly Wilson and EGW parts. It has a 4-pound trigger pull and I use it as a carry/beater gun. If I must, it replaces my Kimber in competition. The gun cost $400 and the parts were about $550. It is probably my favorite.
Bottom left is an AMT Hardballer I bought at a gun show this spring. I rebuilt and refinished it in two days. It pokes one hole even though it has a 5-pound trigger pull. I built it as a carry-only gun. But, I hardly ever carry it.
Top left is a ParaOrdnanace P12-45. It has a 3 1/2-inch barrel, but holds 11 .45 ACP in the mag. It jammed every third rounds when I bought it. A few springs and a bit of polishing and it is now my carry gun. It shows more wear than any of the others, but that is because I carry it a lot. It is very accurate and has a 4 1/2-pound trigger pull. Since I tuned it, the gun has never failed.
In the center is a Para Warthog. I picked it up on Wednesday. I finished the 300-round break-in cycle on Friday. I cleaned it every 50 rounds. There were no malfunctions in the break-in cycle. Accuracy was excellent, but vertically different types of ammo hit in an 8-inch span up and down. Now that it is through the break-in cycle I can address that issue.
I was actually testing my photo light box when I took the pic. I shot a few guns and then came home and shot pix.
I irritated my wife so much she made me take her out for bar-b-cue for dinner.
So when we got home I went and shot closeup pix of the guns - after I cleaned them...
Your Ruger appears to be an 8 /38 barrel .45 LC. Is that right?
I used to have one. I actually still have ammo for it.
I even made an arrest with one with a 7 1/2-inch barrel. The guy got 10+ years for multiple assaults. I caught him in the act with lots of witnesses.
He told me "You ain't gonna shoot me." My answer was "This gun will blow a hole in you that you could drive a truck through. It has a hair trigger. You're making me real nervous and I just may tickle the trigger by accident. I'd shut up and wait for the cops." He decided to wait - for about 10 years.
Great gun you have there. Hang onto it. You'll never know how much you miss it until you get to be an old man. And, if you're like me, you'll remember how it felt - and won't fit the (d*%#) belt anymore.
Hope this trivia is of some use.

It's a 44 Magnum, I have other 44 magnums but they double action hand ejector revolvers.
This one is a The S&W 29-2, I took pic when the gun was dirty.

YW DA,
Hard to tell a 45 from a 44 in puter pix. I was close anyway...
That Smith is a great gun. I had one of those (once upon a time) too.
Hot specials and weak mags were incredibly accurate.
Darn! You're makin' me all nostalgic now. I may have to get a wheelgun soon!

Maybe 20 years ago an acquaintance handed me his new Glock for a test run at the range. I already knew they were ugly, but I had no idea how awful and ungainly they felt in the hand until that moment. I declined the offer to shoot the gun and simply handed it back to him. I have not touched a Glock since nor will I ever do so again.
Life is too short for ugly and uncomfortable handguns. Anyone who loves his Glock has my blessing. To each his own. As for me, no thank you.
This is my idea of a semi-auto pistol.

Even this one in unattractive stainless with a grip a bit too wide and that ridiculous square trigger guard looks and feels better than that plastic railroad tie.

Of course this is what really handles smoothly and feels good in my hand. The payload is less but few auto pistols can match its raw power.

I didn't like Glocks but after actually handling one and playing around with it a little they make me grip it naturally high... it makes it sit almost perfectly in my hand and it ended up feeling REALLY good to me. The XD however I just couldn't get used to.

Yep.
I like Rugers (http://www.thehighroad.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=79563&d=1212843080), and Smiths (http://www.thehighroad.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=94194&d=1236690751), and Colts (http://www.thehighroad.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=93951&d=1236295836), and recently fell for a Dan Wesson (http://www.thehighroad.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=97356&d=1241270753). I also LOVE 1911's (http://www.thehighroad.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=68190&d=1196465160). :D
No Glocks, sorry.
