It's about time but not enough.
There needs to be CCW in DC

...with full recognition of all states' CCW licenses. Afterall it IS the nation's city.

The only reason that congress is addressing this is because the NRA doesnt want the CATO lawsuit to go to SCOTUS.

Jeeper, that sounds significant. Can you give us a bit more background on that?

All congressmen should have to wait at a bus stop in DC sans bodyguards a few times.

This is just my opinion but the circumstances surrounding it are a little too suspicious.
Here is the timeline
First. CATO files a suit in DC which is a "TRUE" 2nd ammendment case challenging the gun ban. This pisses off the NRA since they dont want a suit to go to SCOTUS right now with the current makeup of the court.
Next NRA files a suit in DC which has an "out" the court could use and never adderss the 2nd ammendment.
Next the NRA files to try and join the suits together which would preserve the out the NRA suit has.
The judge denies this
Within one week the NRA's chief lapdog "orin Hatch" files a purposed law to overturn the DC gun ban and make the CATO suit meaningless. It is all too much of a coincidence for me. THe NRA has had years and years to file a suit in DC and they never have. Yet once CATO does they suddenly decide to do something. It is a little suspicious.

I've got a dumb question:
Where will all the murderers go when one of their favorite playgrounds is gone?

pretty interesting hypothesis
this coming after a hearing by NRA lawyer Halbrook in their case against Ashcroft.
Interesting. I wonder what they are gonna do to derail Silviera vs Lockyer. I'm still hoping that S. vs L. goes to the SCOTUS.
