I am looking for an OWB holster for an USP 45 Fullsize. Preferably in leather, nothing against kydex, my daily wear is an MTAC. I would prefer it to be hand boned or at least well contoured, and for it to wear tight to the body. And if you know of one that is fast on/off but still maintains stability and retention that would be even better. I know what I'm asking for probably won't be too cheap, and am willing to accept that, although more economical solutions of course are preferred. :)

Thanks. Are there any of those that you would recommend over another? I've been looking at all the websites I can find: Rafter, DelFatti, Bulman, Milt Sparks, Mitch Rosen, H.B.E., and some others, but I can't tell by looking at the sites the actual quality and how they really ride.

Minotaur OWB. Body of leather for comfort, shell of Kydex for retention and ease of reholstering.

Don hume 721 open top. I believe a THR member did a review on it if you search for it. It is also cheaper at $40. I believe topgunsupply has some in stock for various weapons.

Most all the hostler makers you mention are okay in my book; however, if your looking for a open top I would go with the Galco Concealable.

If your looking for a thumb strap holster I would go with the Bianchi

Thanks for the suggestions, I have been looking at the Hume stuff, especially since the wait time is significantly less than the others. I do have a couple questions though:
1) Is it a good quality holster compared to some of the higher-end brands like Sparks and Bulman, or is it just a relatively good quality holster for the price/time it takes?
2) Does the holster tend to shift around if you use a 1.5" belt since the belt slots are manufactured to accept up to 1 3/4" belts?

Sorry for asking so many questions, but my other holsters I have gotten have all been IWB and more of the custom style. I would really prefer to get a Sparks holster but need it sooner than 6 months. I will probably order a VM2 from Sparks soon though for another gun I carry.

Sometimesiwill: The Hume products are quality, however, they are not really the same grade as a COMPLETELY custom leathermaker. They are great leather products that fit your weapon perfectly and do their job day in and day out. They are not necessarily a thing of beauty that you would keep in a glass cabinet on display. (Sparks stuff is pretty hot).

See this review it may answer some other questions. http://www.xdtalk.com/forums/hs2000-sa-xd-accessories/6412-don-hume-h721-open-top-holster-working-great.html

p.s. I do not work for Don Hume, nor do I know anything about the character of the company/owners. All I am going by is my personal experience with these products.

Several years ago I had a HK USP 45 and found that Galco had a variety of holsters that fit the gun quite well. Take a look at Galco.

Do you like paddles? Easy on, easy off. If so, I have a recommendation for you.

Yes, that is actually what I was originally looking for. The holster will primarily be for the range, camping/hiking, and bumps in the night.

Since I have a H&K USP Full Frame I was wondering if anyone has seen any advancement in holster design. I have been looking at King Tuck, crossbreed, MTAK, but I want an OWB since this darn thing is so very large. I like the bianchi selection in leather but I don't want to end up with dozens of separate holsters for each gun. I like the idea of "interchangeable" Kydex so if I want to carry a revolver or smaller gun I just swap it out.

I have been carrying it in a "fanny pack" and while I do love my pack sometimes I just want it at my side.

Anything people can throw out as what they had or have would be excellent.
