G'Day

I need to know how to remove a barrel on a Remington 7615. I've seen the posts recommending not to do it but I have to remove the barrel. I've got to do a job for a friend, and would like some info before I start experimenting. I have the trade, experience and tools.

Bolt #63 holds it on the action tube.

Get too it through the bottom of the receiver after the trigger group/mag well is removed.

I looked at both Remington and Numrich websites and did not get much info from either.

On the Numrich website I did cross check a couple of part numbers, so it is safe to say the 7615 is a variation of the 7600.

With that in mind,

Take the forend wood off, then you should see a pin hole thru the lube the the action slide tube slides over. this hole is used, with propper pin and spanner to unscrew the inner tube, which is binder that holds the barrel in the frame.

A terrific start but .....I didn't ask the right question. The replies almost got me there.

What I'm working on is a Remington 7615 Patrol (Synthetic, short barrel no sights, a Picatinny rail). It appears that the Action Tube is screwed to a thread on a stud that splined into position. I think my biggest concern is damaging this guys rifle.

A little more, if you can please.

thanks

I've only seen one or two 7615's, brand new in a gun shop gathering dust.

But if it is like the other older Remington pump guns, there should be a bolt head sticking out inside the receiver just below the chamber.

If that is not the case, and it is now a splined stud, then Big Az Al's post #3 explains the tube & spanner he has seen.

I have not seen that on the older 760 pumps. You took the barrel extension bolt out from inside the receiver.

I don't know what else to tell you!

Thanks for your help - job finished easily. Barrel is removed by, after removal of front handguard, rotating the tube beneath the barrel.
