What gun makes you look good?

I have a Savage Striker that no matter how I'm shooting everything else, will consistantly deliver 1/2'' groups at 50yrds, no matter what nasty cheapo greasy 22 ammo I want to feed it. It goes to the range with me every single time to shoot while the big bores are cooling down, or just when I need a confidence boost.

So, do you have a gun that just refuses to let you down, no matter what?

Browning Hi-Power, 9mm. Sweetest handgun I've ever shot.

Wilson Super Grade. I'm faster and more accurate with it than any other defense-calibered handgun I own. Doesn't matter if the challenge is punching paper, steel, or man targets; distance doesn't matter either. It shaves 20% off my times and scores across the board, it's so easy to shoot. I haven't got the heart to sell it, but I don't shoot it much because it's not my regular carry gun. It's pretty much a safe queen. I wish I could sell it, I could use the money, but I'd never be able to afford it again. and I'd hate to have to surrender it as evidence, so I don't carry it. How's that for no brains?

It goes without saying that I look good with all of them;) , but the one that most consistently surprises me with its accuracy is a S&W 5" 629 (.44 mag). Even on days when I'm "off" with everything else, it's still remarkably accurate.

Ruger II with 10" bull barrel, the short rifle that refuses to look bad.

You didn't specify rifle or handgun.

M700 ADL Synthetic in 270. The department store special that most rifle snobs love to dump on. Even came with the hated Chinese Trashco scope. After a short teething period, it consistanly shoots under an inch at 100 yards. After some strategic applications of acraglas, the first shot flyer has vanished. It shoots where I want, when I want. Time after time I have embarrassed much more expensive custom rifles. I don't know why and I don't ask. (OK, I have an idea but I'm not talking) Maybe the folks at Big Green were feeling charitable that day.

Painfully boring repeatable accuracy. Life is good.

Mine is also a Savage, though its a stainless 116/30-06. It still shoots 1/2 inch groups off the bench and it makes me look good in the field.

Killed a lot of game with it.

My nasty, old Savage 24 S-E when shooting the 22 magnum barrel.

If I can find a decent rest in the field, it simply murders small game....like they don't even have a sporting chance.

Interesting. Three Savage owners love their weapons. I don't even have a Savage.

My 1911 makes me look like I know what I'm doing. Sweet ole' hog.

Purty as I am, I make a lot of guns look good.

Oops...

I have a couple of pets that are tack drivers, so if I do my part, folks think I know what I'm doing. And, when I get a little rust off, I can do pretty good with Ol' Slabsides.

Ruger security six, never fails to hit where I want it to. I have shot a friends gun with similar success. Good model I guess.

My Para Ordnance P14.45 Limited I shoot it better than any other hand gun I own. I've also let others shoot it that were surprised at how well they did with it.

Rifles: Kimber 84M 22-250. Scarey accurate. Factory trigger that has never had any work to it and is as good or better than any other gun I own.

Shotgun, Defensive: 870. Nuff said.

Shotgun, sporting: American Arms SxS 12ga. Points better than most guns I've ever tried. Feels good. Pretty nice considering it was $1/2 of some of my "better" shotguns.

In handguns, there are four:

a) West German .45 caliber SIG-SAUER P220A
b) West German 9m/m Luger SIG-SAUER P228

c) 5" Smith & Wesson 629-5 .44 magnum "Classic"
d) 6" Smith & Wesson 686-5 .357 magnum

They're not expensive enough.

I have been trying to get my son-in-law to consider a Savage for 2 years. No use. He "needs" a B.O.S.S. system and some other stuff. Of course, he hasn't BOUGHT one.

But he HAS had 2 consecutive elk seasons screwed up by a jamming Remington auto 30-06 that he WON'T send to the factory.

Oh well.

What makes me look good is my pre Bangor Punta K-22.

Now that the High Standard Trophy has had the FACTORY DEFECT slanted muzzle corrected, IT may be the one that does it.

Regarding the post's question tho ..... hmmm . that's a hard one ... as someone else commented ..... there's not that much around to make me look good anyways .. too fugly!!

I guess tho I'll choose that Super Redhawk ... it is a great shooter, ''barks'' authoritively and so gets noticed ... as well as its proportions!!!:p

I am an average to above average shot but this thing makes me look REAL good. I can't even shoot my Ruger .22 as well as I can this thing. No kidding.

I have a S&W 625 that makes me look pretty good. I've practiced the JM reloads repeatedly, and when someone who isn't familiar with moonclips sees me reload out of the corner of their eye, I usually get a "holy crap, do that again!" It shoots pretty naturally, too, so I get good performance out of it.

Rifles: My Bushy Varminter. Even when the scope reticle broke and started rotating around randomly, my groups opened up to a horrendous 1 inch at 100 yards! Love that rifle!!!

Handguns: Hmmmm. Purely from accuracy point, probably my Ruger Mark II. Style points go to the Desert Eagle, and Boom Factor goes to the .44 Redhawk.

I'd say my Nor-Cal Precision (http://www.norcalprecision.com/) precision long range rifle (Jerry calls them tactical or sniper rifles). Never fails to make me look like I know what the heck I am doing.....
