I am thinking about getting my master's degree in Criminal Justice, and maybe using it in the future to teach on the community college level.

(Imagine a pro-2nd amendment college professor?)

My question:

Can anyone suggest a low-priced ONLINE and ACCREDITED (i.e. legit) master's program in criminal justice?

 :what:

Thanks...

Michigan State University has an excellent program. And one of the best CJ departments in the country.

Here's the link: MSU CJ (http://www.cj.msu.edu/)

Sam Houston State University has THE BEST Criminal Justice department in the country, is much cheaper than MSU, and it is in Texas :). They also offer an online masters in CJ if you are so inclined.

Check out www.shsu.edu

I can second Sam Houston and Ohio/Ohio State (one of the big OH schools) used to have a really good program as well.

Another for Sam Houston, I'm about to finish up my minor in CJ there (here). It's a great school, one of the best CJ programs in the country and recognized world wide. They are adding new programs at the masters and PHD level all the time, and the profs are amazing and really know their stuff and have a lot of experience in their fields. A couple who are fairly liberal, depending on their expertise, but for the most part pretty reasonable and don't push a lot of liberal bs on you...

I would think your odds of finding online programs are pretty good. Many colleges & universities are transitioning from traditional anthropology/sociology programs to criminal justice/forensic anthropology type programs. CJ is a money maker because it is very popular with students & jobs do exist in the field. I teach for a university in the northeast & our program seems to be slowly transitioning as I mentioned above. Also the school I attended has since switched their emphasis from traditional anthropology to criminal justice in order to draw students. Neither currently offers an online criminal justice degree program, but will probably do so in the future. Also online courses are becoming increasingly popular, once again good money maker for departments with declining enrollment.
