Can a cracked forcing cone in a .22 revolver be repaired by welding and recuting?

If it is an M frame "Ladysmith" .22 Hand Ejector, hang it on the wall, they are just not strong enough to shoot.

Well, BHP Fan, it ain't that easy in a revolver. A lot of revolver frames have been cracked or twisted by just "turning the barrel out."

A special barrel vise and special receiver wrench inserts are needed.

I don't know what model it is (I hope it isn't a Ladysmith, as they are going for $3-4k) but even the tough K-22 might not stand up to the old "hammer handle" business.

The Old Fuff is in full agreement with Jim's comments. As for further advise concerning the cracked barrel, not much can be said until the exact model and date of manufacture is known. S&W made a lot of different .22 revolvers, starting with their first model during the Civil War.

Friend of mine has one in nice condition except cracked in the same place. The metal is thin and of 19th century quality. I wouldn't chance it.
