So, I have this nice little Russian Makarov I'm thinking about trading. It's a 12 rounder, and I want something a little slimmer. So, I want to trade with someone in-state. I live in Az. Any paperwork involved in this?

Oh, and, when I fill out that neat little form (gag) for buying a firearm, am I in effect registering it, also?

AZ...in state, face to face, buy or sell or trade...
No sweat as long as parties are legal to own.
Not felons, underage etc.
No paperwork.

When you fill out a form 4473, you are in essense registering the firearm with the dealer from whence you got it. Form stays with him.
And in turn, when the BATF sees fit to audit the dealers books, it is then registered with them.
