Appendix carry?

How many of you guys that carry IWB use the strong side appendix carry? (For the right handed person, this would be between the belt buckle and 3:00 position. I sort of cant the gun so that the barrel falls within the crease of my thigh and you-know-what.

Just bought a Galco IWB holster for my .38 and the picture on the manual actually has it at this position.

Any thoughts... Does this position scare anyone out there? (For obvious reasons....or am I just being paranoid?)

I usually carry a Sig 239 .40 this way. Scary? Maybe a bit, but I find this is the way I print the least. I can carry with a t-shirt and have almost no print.

Are you canting the gun backwards? Because I carry in that position at a slight forward cant, and the barrel points kind of down/outside my outer thigh. If it went off, my junk would be fine. I'd have a nasty scrape down the side of my leg though.

I prefer a few inches to the right of my spine I guess that would be 4-5 o'clock..... with good posture I can carry even a full sized 1911 without printing at all and even sit comfortably...

Personally, if I can help it.. I prefer to avoid appendix carry...

I carry a Walther P99QA IWB between 1:00 and 2:00 99% of the time.

I have a pretty cheap IWB holster, but it works very well and is nylon, so it doesn't add much to the overall width of the gun. Is the Galco leather? I have a Galco OWB holster and it is pretty thick leather compared to my nylon IWB (Bianchi I think), but I only wear that when going out to OC dinners and other events where a higher profile is warranted. :)

And no, I'm not worried about the positioning, as I'm not going to pull the trigger while it's in my pants.

Serviceable gun, serviceable holster, safe user and you're good to go.

I agree.
I typically carry a Kakr PM9/40 or Glock 33 and printing isn't an issue; I can carry for hours with it just to the right of the zipper.

Carry my P32 or Rami there all the time. Due to a shoulder injury can no longer carry behind the hip. I've learned to get really used to it. Besides I figured it is in the same general area as when I pocket carry.

I have a pretty good size love handle. I find that I can use my Orca Software at 4:00 tucked right in behind the LH. I carry a full size 93FS with an unbuttoned cover shirt.

I carry "appendix" using a 2 O'Clock Carry holster made by Comp-Tac and a Ruger SP-101. The holster is a dedicated appendix carry holster and works exceedingly well.

With barrels of ~ 3.5 inches or shorter, it is quite comfortable (except when sitting down), fast and reasonably concealable.
