Got a 681 S&W and a new barrel and Ti 7 shot cylinder to build a fix sight lite revolver in the "L" Frame. Here are the Items I have on order and should have them next week.

Looks like a fun project ! Be sure to post pictures and report when done on how it compares from the stock to the modified version.

I am working on a K-Frame myself. Starting with a Katrina damaged Model 66 and going for a more compact carry piece. Re-barreling is part of my build as well. I will have to go to the S&W site to see what they have for barrels - do they have a catalog of performance center parts there ?

If possible could you post pictures of your project in stages as you build it? I think it would be a great thread if we could follow your progress and then see the completed handgun.

How big of a job is it to fit a seven shot cylinder into lockwork that was designed for six shots? I've considered it myself.

I would think at a minimum, you would need a new hand for radiused ejectors. That 681 may be from pre-radius days, depending upon age. It will be the wrong length, for certain.
