I'm looking for a basic set of gunsmith taps. I know brownells has a 40 pc set for $121+ship but I already have the drills and I don't need all 3 types of each size of taps. Basically I just need the 3-56,5-44,6-40,6-48 and the 8-40 sizes. For chasing threads that are gummed up or slightly galled.

Any info is appreciated!

Msc sells them as well as a few other places. you will need these sizes in bottoming style as well.

Probably plenty on e-bay...good old US ones variously...be worth checking...

Just order the ones you want & need seperately from Brownell's.

rcmodel THANKS! That's exactly what I was looking for!! :) Looks like I can spend $30 for the ones I want/need.
Better than spending $120 for a set with many I don't need including the drill bits. ;)
