I know this is the "reloading" section - but I'm new here and haven't figured out where everything goes. :uhoh:
Does anyone know where I can find some 6.5x54 Manliccher Schoenouer (sp) ammo?? I found one place on the net, but it was $50 for a box of 20. :eek::eek::eek:
My son's great grandfather gave him a custom gun and a few rounds - I'd like to find enough to make sure he can shoot for a while - but not pay a ridiculous price for it. Any suggestions?

Here's one site that has it for $30 a box. You'll find that most will be European manufactured at premium prices. I'm guessing the barrel twist will favor the heavier bullets.

Handloading brings those prices down a lot. Graf's has brass sometimes, but they're out now. They list Hornady ammo, but say they're out on that too.

Most of the foreign made barrels have excess headspace, so tell your son to neck size only. If he full-length sizes his brass will probably last only 2 loadings.

We do not have the capability to reload. Would cost me way too much for the stuff - no more than we shoot. I was looking just to buy some ammo to make sure he has enough for several years - since it appears it's getting hard to find. It is his deer rifle - and was custom built by his great-grandfather. I'm kinda one of those guys that loves guns and having lots of guns and plenty of ammo for them. I don't have much time to go shoot them though. :(:(:(
I'll go up to the local Graf's and see what they can get - or maybe buy off that other site....Thanks
