Okay - got a pair of M48A yugo mausers, a Russian M44 carbine, and a Yugo SKS to clean up.

Need to get the actions out of the wood, and I'd like to take the bolts apart to make sure I've got all the crap out of 'em. Is there any sort of guide as to how to do this out on the web? Or should I just boil'n'oil the things?

Or, conversely, does anyone have any suggestions? Don't need to reduce 'em to individual component parts - just enough to get the crap out, and let me clean up and finish the stocks while not on the rifles...

Try here...lots of good info: Surplus Rifles (http://www.surplusrifle.com/index.asp)

Heating the stock in a 170 deg oven, and wiping down what oozes out with mineral spirits or Murphy's Oil Soap wipes works well (just wipe the wood dry after).

Spraying and soaking the metal with Gun Scrubber or Carb cleaner works well.

Oops, forgot to add...Only heat up the stock for 1/2 hour at a time, you want to be careful not to over heat or over dry the wood. A hair dryer supposedly works too, but takes longer.
