i have been using std federal 205 and std cci small rifle with sub MOA results but if i switch to match or bench rest primers would it be possible to go from an 7/8" avg to .5" @100?

There's only one way to find out. I'm not sure if the extra cost of BR primers are actually worth it in a regular scenario. If you are shooting competitively, that's something else. I'd maybe try a hundred to see.
