At the range, everything going pretty well. Range is hot, I finished my string and was hanging out, waiting to go down range to check and repost target. I see to guys come into the range area with their targets and gear. They go to their shooting positions, and....proceed to cross the firing line with their targets (line is still HOT, mind you). The Range Master was looking to the other side of the range (pistol side), for that split second. I yelled CEASE FIRE about three times, and everybody stopped and, initially looked at me lilke I'm crazy. Everyone quickly realized what happened, and no one got hurt. But the two clowns seemed oblivious to what had happened. Range Master gave them a chewing out and thanked me for paying attention...something these fools hadn't been doing. I ahte to think what could have happened if I had been shooting like everyone else.

Some people scare me. :fire:

Some people scare me.

Yep, and the scariest thing about them is they're not the least bit scared. Even after the fundamentals of cause and effect are explained to these individuals, the connection doesn't seem to be made.

I hope they were promptly dismissed with the mandatory "Have a nice day, come back soon." :cuss:

Wait. Were they walking behind you or infront of the targets? If behind, why is that a problem?

You can tell I havent been to a range before.

....proceed to cross the firing line with their targets (line is still HOT, mind you).

Sounds to me that they were walking into the "bullets only" part of the range.

One could take the point of view that letting them go would merely be letting Darwin have his way...

OK, OK, I'm not serious, but admit it... you hate stupid people nearly as much as I do.

With some folks, you just gotta wonder exactly how long their "pilot light" has been blown out.............

but without stupid people, how would we know we are smart?

-or-

if everything was cool, how would we know what sucks?

See, this is clearly an idiot. I don't consider a slow, elderly man stupid. I consider him slow...and elderly. But when you do something that ENDANGERS yourself or other people as opposed to INCONVENIENCING them, that's where we start to see citizens of stupidtopia.

I don't consider a slow, elderly man stupid.

How commendable.

But who, in this thread, has said anything about anyone being slow or elderly?

Just yesterday I was the skeet range, at station 7, lined up for my first shot at the high tower, "pull" is on the tip of my tongue when some idiot wanders around the wall seperating the two fields, if I brought my shotgun down to eye level this guy would have been dead in my sights. My partner shouts "Hey You" and this Darwin award seeker suddenly realizes where he is and scrambles back to his side of the wall.

Some people.

PS. I missed the clay and I blamed it on him

Often, intelligent people are ignorant of fields or portions of fields.
That ignorance is correctable with knowledge.
A willing attitude is key.

If they are unwilling to learn and/or abide by the rules...they are dangerous and should be asked to leave.

If they are unwilling to learn proper tecniques, but are otherwise safe, they are harmless and can be tolerated as long as they don't hamper others.

Both slow and ignorant can be found in any age group.

Elderly has to be earned.

blues, you apparently missed part 46.

MJRW apparently you meant to post on part 46.

This is 47.

Comments regarding 46 in here will only confuse the issues.

BTW I have read all of the horsespit in 46 and have chosen not to post there since it seems to have degenerated into "Urinals at 20 Paces".

Nah, was just making a reference to the other range doofuses part. It seemed to be a good time to display the difference between a real range doofus, and an old man that wants to shoot his rifle. The kind of doofus in this thread...I will stand with any man calling him a doofus. Also, like you said, 46 has degenerated. Which is why I thought I would post it here. The intent was just as I said, to bring to light the difference. The intent is not to bring the urinals here.
