"Observations on Colt's Second Contract, November 2,1847". This is a 28 page book by G. Maxwell Longfield & david T. Basnett. I ran across reference to it while reading about Dragoons on the web. Checked out the on-line used book stores and found that it was spendy, most places had a $55 plus price on it as a used book. I then ran across it on evil bay for $10. It's a reprint of the original 1921 book done by the Museum Restoration Service in Canada. The e-bay seller (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&item=130302857342) has more copies if anyone wants more Dragoon facts. Good b&w photos with detailed info on the four shipments of the Dragoon from 6-10-1848 to 11-29-1848. Info on variations I have not seen elsewhere.

Good information. I'll check it out. I have a 1st Model put away here. Been wondering some about it, and been looking for a book. Some of the people here are like diplomats. You ask one question and they lead you around in so many circles that when you finally get to where you're going you don't know where you're at anyway....
