Which Ruger MKI/II .22s have 1:14 twist barrels?

Hi folks,

I'm looking at picking up a Ruger MKII type pistol pretty soon. I hear that some were made with 1:14 twist barrels, and some with 1:16 barrels. Browsing Ruger's website, it looks like all the current MKIIIs are made with 1:16 twist barrels.

I'd like the additional ammunition flexibility that a 1:14 twist would provide. I have lots of Aguila SSS that I'd like to shoot, and a 1:14 will probably do that better than a 1:16. Understanding that 1:14 may still be marginal for stabilizing the 60-grain SSS bullet, I may pick up or make an SGB tool to shorten the bullets somewhat and give them a more terminally effective meplat.

So, any info on which pistols/barrels have the 1:14 twist? Years/serial number ranges?

Thanks for your help!

Your question seems like something that www.rimfirecentral.com may be able to answer.

Or you can try contacting Ruger directly, I have always found their customer service to be very helpful.
