My birthday is fast approaching, and I'm thinking about a pilgrimage to Cabela's.

Does anyone have any experience with their 'remanufactured' ammo?

I'm specifically interested in the 9mm, 38spl, and 357mag.

The Cabela's reloads are made by Ultramax (says so on the box). I bought a 250 round box of .223 55 grain FMJ last week but haven't shot any yet. My dad and brother have both shot Ultramax commercial reloads and had good results.

Once I put a few through my Mini-14 I'll report in.

i used thier ultramax 9mm and was really UNIMPRESSED. this is the only ammo to ever give my 92 FS such a choking that i almost had to use the hiemlick (sp) manuver. i'd avoid it in favor of wolf or winchester white box. still, wouldn't hurt to run a box through your piece, it may like that ammo better than mine.

I have purchased 230 gr .45 FMJ and .308 165 PSPBT. The .45 ammo is consistent and flawlwss after a bag of 300. The .308 has also been consistent after a bag of 100 (bolt and SA). SO far, so good. I would be interested to hear of any failures or dissatisfaction before I buy more.

My experience pretty much as BigJake described.
It was really dirty and not very accurate.

My 92 FS loves the Fiochi stuff, which I was able to buy for about $6 a box when the store near me had it- wish I had bough a whole case of it when I had the chance.

This summer I bought 300 rounds each of the .38 158gr swc and the.357 158gr swc. They work very reliably. In fact I had a friend pick me up another 300 (.38) rounds when he went down. Don’t forget to ask for your free ammo cans.

The "bag o ammo" I bought from cabelas was crap.

Pure, unfiltered, stinking, steamy crap.

Mixed case lots of nickel and brass, dirty, inaccurate, unreliable.

I had one round blow apart the action in my camp nine due to
case failure.

It cost me a lot more to get my marlin fixed than I saved on the ammo
which in retrospect was more expensive than store-bought.
