Thinking about indoor range & gun shop

Our area does not have an indoor range. It has several small gun shops.
One primary one and several smaller ones.

I'm within 20 miles of two small citys of 35-50k people
and lots of smaller towns in between.

Can anyone shed light on this type of business?
Is there any money to be made in this type of business?
I'm thinking to use it when I'm older for income.

What about liability insurance cost. Any idea there?

Etc.

Thanks.

No personal experience, but you may want to look at:

It seems I've run across some other sites that may answer some of your questions, but didn't bookmark them.

I've thought about it myself.
There was an indoor range here in VT a few years ago. When it went out of business I asked the owner about it and he said the main problem was the new air quality standards required by the EPA. In order to reduce airborne lead particles the air has to be filtered or vented more frequently. In VT winter that meant wasting most of his very expensive heat. In the summer, outdoor shooting is plentiful so no demand.
Perhaps it would be more feasible in an area w/ lower heating costs and more summer demand.
