in stock at the moment, FWIW.
There were some threads about the reissue of this round that generated interest, so I thought that a quick heads-up here might be worthwhile.

I just picked up a box of these locally... cool looking blue bullets. They almost look like plastic, until you hear them ring the bell on a steel silhouette at 25 yards.
"Ammo to go" is really milking the ammo price hike though. $30 for 50 rounds of WWB 38 spcl!!! I am seeing plenty of plinking ammo locally at $17 - $20 per 50.
Outrageous ammo to go... you guys should be shamed.

Interesting that someone has reissued the old Nyclad ammo. I actually have a box of the old S&W Nyclad ammo out in the garage. If I remember the original marketing was that if cut down on lead debris in the air for indoor ranges.
Maybe Nehru jackets will come back too, but I date myself. :neener:

Hmmm. Not a bad cover garment in this day and age...

Nehru
Well, somehow I went thru life without seeing that word...had to go look it up! Guess I can add that one to the other new word I added to the vocabulary today..."ghey"...somehow I missed that one too. Maybe I'm killing brain cells.

Yeah and honestly I wouldn't use it. The specs on the ammo are WEAK - 191 ftpds of energy at the muzzle!
Nothing like the old Nyclads...

Unless they are using the wrong photo that's old stock ammo. The new stuff is in the new Federal boxes and they are packaged in 20 round boxes. If that's old stock ammo it's probably very accurate. I can't speak for the newly released Nyclad ammo.

I am patiently waiting to get a case of the 125-grain Nyclad as it is my favorite snubby load.

Boy, after reading the specs, I am not sure if I like the new Nyclad anymore. I don't really care about +P power, but at only ~190 ft/lbs, this load has about the energy of my P32. I still have a few left over from the box I bought to try. I may just stick with my good old 158g sluggers at 800+ fps. I think a decent 38 loading should be approaching the 250 ft/lbs range.

Oddly, they say theirs is the 50-rd. boxes. I thought the new stuff was only in 20-rd. boxes. ???
... unless they maybe have the old stuff.

The box on their web is 20 years old or older.

After reading those specs, it's my conclusion that the bullets hit the denim, and use the denim as jet fuel. After exiting the gel, the bullet continues to accelerate until reaching orbit, and then impacts the Moonraker headquarters.

The poor performance through the denim is likely due to the gaping wide cavity on these bullets. I bet they bite off huge chunks of fabric, pack it in there tight, and become 125g FMJ.

I saw them 2 weekends ago at a local shop in southcentral PA, but they were only allowing customers to buy 1 box of .38 spl, .357 mag, and 9mm; that doesn't give me enough to test, proof, acclimate, and load for carry; I'll stick with my winchester and remington 125gr sjhp's for now...this hoarding is getting ridiculous!!!

Ammunitiontogo site lists the ammo as P38M. That is the product number Federal is showing for the new ammo.
Added: I just looked at a 50rd box of the original Nyclad 125gr ammo and it looks identical to the pic on the website. The new ammo is a different design. It has skiving through to the hollow cavity like a Gold Dot.
It also appears Federal has kept the same item number for the new rounds. My old box says P38M.
