Way to much, pal up with the guy at the WallyWorld SG counter and find out when they get their ammo shipment. I bet you get better than 2 for 1 on the deaal your looking at for fair HP ammo.

Speer 9mm Gold Dots are ~$22/20 rounds. The LE box of 50 is supposed to be much less. I've seen those 50 round 9mm boxes going for ~$28 online from LE supply stores. $50 is way too much, just pass on them...

At this time it's not a bad deal, that's if you can even find it. Back before the "Rush" it was selling at about $25 for a box of 20 before tax's or shippng. So be happy.

Afterall, how much is your life worth?

the boxes of 20 used to cost in the 25$ range. The LE boxes with 50 rounds used to cost in the 25-28$ range. I wouldn't even think about paying 1$ for 1 round!

Ammo today is back breaking or if you will, wallet breaking. I was at Cabella several weeks ago and saw a box of 44wcf, lead RNFP, sell for $50. Used to sell for $28.

The price is determined by what the customer is willing to pay and in these times, if you don't pay the price, someone else will. Retailers know this.

Walmart is going to be your best cost-conscious place out there to buy ammo. (compared to online with S+H)

I used to stop by just about every other day to have my hopes crushed when I found out that I missed a shipment by 20 mins. and the local gunshop owner bought up all the ammo.:cuss: (New 6 box limit has helped) The gal working said to just give her a ring (or whoever was working sporting goods) late in the evening (6 o'clock) and early in the morning (7:30) and they could give me the latest update on shipments.

I PUT THE WALMART NUMBER IN MY CELLPHONE AND RANG EVERYOTHER DAY FOR A MONTH OR SO. I was able to purchase all of the ammo that I needed and then some. :)

Best of luck to you

If you're looking to just get a couple dozen top-notch SD rounds, call Barnes Bullets in Utah. They usually stock a few boxes of their loaded SD ammo made by other companies like CorBon.

I bought two boxes of this hot-to-trot DPX ammo from them a couple of weeks ago.

Good people to deal with, too. Conie Brooks (owner) actually anwered the phone and took my order.

The more we all cave in to these ridiculously high prices, the more likely we are to see them continued, by both manufacturers and vendors. I'd rather wait for reasonable deals than jump on the overpriced bandwagon; I might not feel the same 6 months from now, but I feel good about it now.

In my area, Wal-Mart is no longer the source of convienent, low-priced ammo.
My local Wal-Mart enacted a store policy that limits you to 6 boxes of ammo per purchase and the only handgun ammo they have in stock is .357SIG and .45GAP, everything else is always sold out.

The manufacturers haven't raised prices, the sellers have. It's supply and demand. If no one is willing to pay higher prices, they will have to lower the price to make it sell. The current market price is higher in a low supply high demand situation. Buy now at a higher price or maybe buy cheaper when demand lowers in a few months. Your choice.
