OK, so i got my XD-40 in OD green and took it to the range to abuse it today

So, I put about 500 rounds through it, and I must say, this is the coolest pistol I've ever fired. Not one problem at all. It seemed to shoot much nicer than the beat up loaner that the range had when I first tried the gun, and even THAT one fired well. Accurate as heck even with the inexpensive reloads I was using for practice. Very easy to shoot WELL. I dig it completely.

Now that I know I love it, it's time to love it even more. A trigger job, maybe? an XML perhaps!? The possibilities are endless.
This truly is an amazing firearm. When I'm ready to get a small pistol for carry, I think it will be the subcompact XD... and perhaps I'll pick me up a .45 when they come out too! :-D

Have they promised a 45? Or is it just something people expect them to come out with?

The rental beater I shot sucked... would fail to load in such a way that I couldn't clear the jam easily, or safely... pretty much scared me off. But other than those issues, the pistol seems to be an excellent group of features, and very nice over all.

Anyways, the beaters don't get taken care of, i think. Everyone i've talked to who owns one say they're the stuff, and I tend to agree after my initial shoot...

.45 is supposed to come out in a year. might change with release of .45gap cause they can use same size frame as 9mm,.40S&W and .357sig.

I like the XD's. I've rented the XD 9 & 357 and was very pleasantly surprised w/ their performance. Congrats on yours ;)
