I'm interested in getting folks' .32 H&R Mag loads.

Most specifically, I currently have need of a load for Accurate #5 powder using a 71 gr. FMJ bullet. I don't have a listing for this load. The closest I have is a 85 gr. JHP with a start of 4.3 gr. AA #5.

This is going to be shot out of a S&W J frame 342, 2" tube, titanium cylinder. Looking to make some smooth, cheap practice loads and save my Georgia Arms stuff for more serious work and it's associated practice.

I have been experimenting with 32 S&W Long, but the idea is similar to the 32 H&R mag. I was trying to find the most power without blowing up a Colt Pocket Positive [Small revolver with a big grip]. I have wrecked one with Unique, welded it back together, and then blew it into tiny pieces with LONGSHOT. AA#9 and H110 were disappointing. The H110 has a very narrow range of usable loads with over pressure a grain away from very wimpy. These loads are my successes.

1) 6.5 gr. 800X 85 gr. Hornady .312" JHP, 1.29", easy out

2) 13 gr. LIL'GUN 85 gr. HNDY .312" JHP, 1.29" , easy out, case full, lower pressure sign on primer.

Recoil and primer signs about the same in two above and are both high recoil and low pressure.

When experimenting with the 32 revolver caliber, the pressure can run away in a hurry. Tiny steps are best.

Factory ammo is hot in regard to the federal 85 grain HP. It is common to get split cases on first firing. GA Arms list loads that appear to be above factory. I have loaded this round for years and my data is above what the Hornady manual lists. Some years ago Shooting Times had data that was above factory, way above.Be cautious in all data and start with the minimum load. I recall the test pistol to be a S&W L Frame. I have 3 Rugers( single six and 2 Vaquero styles) and a S&W 311. The single six is the most accurate revolver I have ever shot. Byron
